Recently, I attended the Love Welcome Conference on LGBTQ Refugees and Asylum Seekers. I got a lot of very useful information on the intersections of sexual identity, gender identity, and refugee/asylum status. From legal rights to the role of spirituality, from detention centers to overcoming torture, I learned a LOT about these experiences and how I and the Church can help.
Below are the notes I took via Twitter, organized by subject. I have put them here as a resource for anyone looking to learn more about and help LGBTQ refugees and asylum seekers. Please read and share them as you wish.
